The Big Beautiful Bill delivers more than just tax cuts
As the economy recovers from President Biden’s disastrous economic policies, Americans are finally catching their breath. The last thing they need is to be hit with the largest tax hike in history.
That’s why the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill was so important.
But while the OBBB, signed into law by President Trump on July 4, definitely delivers on tax cuts, it does much more than that.
What does it actually do?
Averts the largest tax hike in history
Enacted in 2017, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act reduced the average family’s 2026 tax burden by $1,500, lifted 6 million Americans out of poverty, and led to record-low unemployment. It accomplished this by cutting taxes across all income levels, doubling the standard deduction and indexing it to inflation, and offering pro-growth incentives like 100% bonus depreciation.
But many important provisions of the TCJA were set to expire at the end of this year.
The One Big Beautiful Bill fixes this.
Specifically, the bill makes permanent the individual tax rate reductions and pro-growth incentives like 100% bonus deduction.
By locking in these reforms, the One Big Beautiful Bill will help strengthen the economy and keep more money in the pockets of hardworking Americans — that’s $1,500 more that a typical family of four will have to spend on essentials like groceries, gas, or child care.
Reverses much of Biden’s green energy scam
Enacted under the false promise of economic relief, former President Biden’s misnamed Inflation Reduction Act funneled billions in energy tax credits to favored corporations and special interests.
The tax credits were supposed to encourage clean energy use and production. Instead, they distorted markets, chose winners and losers, and drove up costs.
The One Big Beautiful Bill phases out many of the IRA’s most wasteful tax credits — including subsidies for electric vehicle purchases, production credits for wind and solar, and tax incentives for battery manufacturing.
These reforms encourage market transparency in the energy sector and help ensure that America stays competitive on the global stage. By cutting red tape and rolling back wasteful subsidies, this bill can help bring energy prices down for families — without forcing them to pay more to subsidize elites’ electric vehicles.
Health care reforms that empower patients and better serve the vulnerable
As health care costs soar — fueled in part by the Affordable Care Act — the One Big Beautiful Bill offers real relief.
It expands health savings accounts and direct primary care, giving Americans more flexibility, control, and tax advantages. One study found that HSAs alone could save up to $73 billion annually — a strong step toward lower costs and greater medical freedom.
And, despite what you might’ve heard, this bill actually strengthens Medicaid by prioritizing those it was intended to help — low-income families, people with disabilities, and pregnant women.
Critics claim it “cuts Medicaid,” but that’s false. Medicaid spending will keep growing at 1% per year. The One Big Beautiful Bill cuts fraud and abuse by ensuring that those receiving benefits are actually eligible and requiring able-bodied adults to contribute if they want benefits.
These reforms make the program work better for those it was meant to serve.
Fixing the border crisis and enforcing the law
The Biden administration presided over the worst border crisis in recent history, straining community resources, leaving vulnerable people at the mercy of criminal organizations, and paralyzing our immigration system.
The One Big Beautiful Bill takes a major step toward fixing that.
It includes $46 billion for infrastructure like President Trump’s border wall, funding to hire 3,000 new Border Patrol agents and 5,000 customs officers, and resources for upgraded roads and enforcement technology.
The chaos at the border did not happen overnight. Fixing it will require real solutions, and the One Big Beautiful Bill provides a good start.
The bottom line?
The One Big Beautiful Bill is a transformational victory for American families. It stopped the largest tax hike in history, took serious steps to rein in Washington’s wasteful spending, improved Medicaid for those who need it, and provided funding to finally secure the border.
The lawmakers who supported this bill delivered real results.
They deserve a thank-you.
