Campaign Americans for Prosperity Launching Wide-Ranging Campaign to Urge Congress to Extend Tax Cuts 

ARLINGTON, VA — FOX News’ Paul Steinhauser broke the news this morning that Americans for Prosperity is launching a major $20 million campaign called Protect Prosperity calling on Congress to renew the historic Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that will be the cornerstone of President Trump’s legislative agenda this year. The campaign, the largest effort to date by a conservative organization to support President Trump’s second-term legislative agenda, launches today with an ad blitz across all 50 states urging Americans to unite in telling Washington that now is not the time for higher taxes.    

Steinhauser, via FOX News Digital, writes: 

“AFP President and CEO Emily Seidel, highlighting that her group worked alongside Trump to pass the tax cuts last decade, called them the most pro-growth tax reform in American history. ‘Renewing the TCJA must be a top priority so we can ensure this historic achievement continues to fuel decades of economic prosperity – and AFP is fully committed to mobilizing millions of people to ensure it gets done,’ Seidel told Fox News in a statement.

“AFP Vice President of Government Affairs Akash Chougule argued that the expiration of the tax cuts would ‘result in crippling tax increases for millions of families,’ but ‘by extending and improving on the TCJA, we can make America more affordable, create greater opportunity, and reignite the American dream.’

“The group, and its aligned political wing, has a wide-ranging grassroots network across the country that it touts has reached nearly 30 million voters the past two years. AFP says it will once again activate its grassroots army ‘to ensure pro-growth tax reform is Congress’ top priority’ through ‘calls to lawmakers, community phone banks, and 20,000 contacts at constituent doors planned in February alone.’” 

With this massive 50-state campaign, AFP is bringing a wholistic grassroots show of force that only AFP can bring. The effort will educate and mobilize AFP’s grassroots army of millions of voters to renew President Trump’s historic tax cuts – holding lawmakers accountable, elevating the voices of Members who support pro-growth tax cuts, and serving as a major boost to help President Trump and leaders in Congress drive a win for the American people.   

The Protect Prosperity campaign will feature over 1,000 meetings with lawmakers on Capitol Hill, hundreds of in-district events with lawmakers, activists, and business leaders, and dozens of policy briefings to educate Hill staff. It will also feature national and local op-eds, TV, radio, social media, and direct and connected TV ads to connect lawmakers with stories from business owners and families who would be impacted by a tax hike.
