AFP’s new “Protect Prosperity” ad puts Sen. Ossoff in the spotlight

The average American family will pay an extra $1,500 in taxes annually if Congress fails to extend the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) — which is set to expire this year.

And in some states, like Georgia, it’ll be even worse — families there will pay an additional $2,500 per year.

And it’s not just tax hikes.

More than 25,000 jobs could vanish in the Peach State alone if pro-growth provisions in the TCJA expire.

Why? Because if the tax cuts expire, small businesses will pay more in taxes and lose key benefits that help them grow — like being able to deduct the cost of new equipment, write off essential expenses, and use simpler accounting methods.

Without these provisions, costs will increase, investments will shrink, and businesses will be forced to cut jobs just to stay afloat.

It’s a ripple effect that hits every corner of the economy:

  • Manufacturers scale back production because they can’t afford new equipment.
  • Warehouses cut shipments as demand drops.
  • Small businesses cancel hiring plans or shut their doors entirely.

Eighty-five percent of small business owners say they benefitted from the TCJA.

Letting it expire would stifle job creation and increase taxes for most Americans when they can least afford it.

And lawmakers — like U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff in Georgia — will have to answer for it.

Americans for Prosperity is holding lawmakers accountable.

Sen. Ossoff is up for reelection in 2026, and his vote on the renewal of the TCJA will define his record. If he refuses to support extending the tax cuts, Georgia’s economy will take the hit.

That’s why AFP launched the “Protect Prosperity” campaign — we’re leading the charge to extend the Trump tax cuts by holding key lawmakers accountable for their votes.

Our grassroots teams are speaking face-to-face with citizens in lawmakers’ home districts about the looming threat of tax hikes.

And we’re connecting them directly with their representatives on Capitol Hill, like Senator Ossoff, to reinforce the grassroots pressure building back home.

But this fight isn’t limited to Georgia.

We’re taking the fight to key lawmakers’ home districts across the country.

The last thing lawmakers want is to be held responsible for tax hikes and job lossesespecially in key districts with vulnerable lawmakers.

AFP is the only organization with the grassroots capabilities to get the job done.

With the largest grassroots network in the country, AFP is executing a full-scale campaign to protect American prosperity by:

  • Unleashing our unmatched grassroots army. We’re knocking tens of thousands of doors and organizing hundreds of community events in key lawmakers’ districts to let Americans know what’s at stake.
  • Connecting constituents with their representatives. We’re ensuring that the people these policies affect the most — families, workers, and business owners — are heard loud and clear in Washington.
  • Shaping the national conversation. Millions of Americans still don’t know their tax cuts are expiring. Through targeted media campaigns — on TV, radio, and digital platforms — we will spark a national conversation around pro-growth policies.

How do we know this strategy works?

Because we’ve done it before.

In 2017, AFP played a pivotal role in helping pass the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Now, we’re leading the fight to ensure those tax cuts don’t disappear.

Congress has a choice: stand with working families and small businesses — or be held accountable by your constituents in 2026.

And your support can help make the difference.
